Outdoor CCTV to Protect Car? Recommendations?

I am after an outdoor CCTV kit to view my front drive and car.
I have seen the vigilantern:

which is a camera operate by a PIR in the bottom of the light, but it just connects to a TV or VCR and I really fancy a digital piece of kit that has an internal memory card.
Anyone got a decent bit of kit they can recommend?

maplins sell some good ones by RF concepts. just a bullet cam. needs a 12v supply running to it, a bnc phono adapter and away you go, plug into the dvd recorder.

get yourself over to CCTV cameras they will have something to do your job. Consider sticking up two very overt fake cameras to drive them into the field of view of a more covert camera.

Consider buying something that will work at near 0 lux and that will capture sound also. You should be able to get something good for under £200.

I user these Colour Sony IR day/night camera

The other thing I forgot to mention in my earler post is it is worthwhile making sure to buy a waterproof camera.

Cheers for that :)
So one or two of those pinhole cameras plus a DVR?
Is it easy to self install?

I use these too, good cameras, the ones with the one ring of led's are very poor for outdoor use.

Get some of these and a DVR and your off. :thumb:

I've got a Geovision card for recording onto a PC - awesome bit of kit.

I'm also running 10 cameras - all from RF Concepts as per the links above.

You can wire in PIR's so that the cameras record automatically, mine record constant, and a 250GB hard drive records constantly for about a week, although when it gets to the end, it just overwrites it. you then select which time frame you want and burn to a DVD,

Connection to the net is possible to view the house from work/away from any PC, all you need is a broadband connection and a router.
