Should I?

The local Electrical-cum-Everything store has a SONY KDL40W2000 in the window for £1500.

It comes with 4 years warranty and glass stand .... only one snag ....

It has been sold and returned, the SONY Engineer has apparently installed some new software to get it working and it's back for sale ......

Thoughts?

Well throw it away then if you prefer, but the local orphanage may not have a TV at all.

the 'next generation' HD TV's are round the corner so unless you need one now it may be worth waiting. They are also banning the sale of goods containing materials like Cadmium etc before long so current model TVs will have to be sold off before the deadline - you should be able to get a bargin...

Jonno_johnson 15 December 2006 06:46 PM

Lewis ill sell you mine for £500 second hand 2 year of warranty left, pm for details.

£400 and will deliver cant go lower.

DMC12 15 December 2006 08:09 PM

Pete,

I'm not sure if you've heard but the picture quality on these from a standard feed is pretty poor. You probably should take a look at CRT's. :)

Vegescoob 15 December 2006 08:11 PM

What I don't get is that the better TV technology becomes, the worse the content.
Some sort of immutable universal inverse law?

Pete,do you always take so long to buy something. This must be post number 567,456 regarding buying a flat screen tv. Why not take your own advice (which i do btw) and stick to your top quality CRT until BBC and ITV start transmitting in HD.

corradoboy 15 December 2006 08:43 PM

Bigger screens, better picture, longer warranty, free delivery, lower prices, NOT SONY

Got some screenshots ready for you to look at PQ Pete. WIll post them up over the W/E.
