Jesus what a complete waste of my life!

;):thumb:

That said I've met some very nice people, some of whom have become friends, and without this site I would never have met Trouser (ex-TSL) who subsequently I would not have introduced to his now-wife, so that can't be bad.

So....in that spirit, 5000 posts on I'm interested to hear what cool / funny / amazing / sad things that would / wouln't have happened if you had never visited Scoobynet :thumb:

My scoob wouldn't be sat in the garage, roll caged up and stripped bare that's for sure...
Should have left it at a 400bhp road car.

Have met you at the Star Inn when you were local, (ish) hope things are going well with whatever it is you are up to now.

But yea, total waste of life sat here.
Trouble is, it's the easy option...

Mind you, had I not have posted on 22b on an idle Tuesday afternoon about what to do as I was bored at my old place of work.
Tim W (I think) would not have spurred me into popping into my local tuning shop and asking for a Job...
Which I got. :D:D:D:D:D
and I met a young lass off a another scoob website. Defo not sorry about that one. (although it didn't last that long) :lol1:

Made me realise there are some sad anal people out there who are just asking to be dragged screaming and shouting into the LewisLand of madness :D

Edcase 10 December 2006 06:16 PM

Andy - is this still the same one you had started when I met you? You using it for trackdays etc? Did you find a 106 gti in the end?

All good here in London, business going v. well. Still visit Bristol occasionally, but don't really keep in touch with any of the Scooby gang.

Pete...knocking on the door of 20k posts eh? That's *some* wind-up ;)

Keep it up. :)

Yep, same car.... unless that was one of the times I took the sport to the Star..
Spends more time in the workshop than on track though, as I've had a bit of change of direction myself.
Spent too much on the car and not enough on living... ;)

Gave up looking for a 106 Rallye, spent the money on two holidays instead. Maldives and Thailand. :D

Excellent news on the business venture then. Well done. :thumb:
I don't keep in touch with the scooby lot much either...
Looking at Imprezas 24/7 in the week is enough without standing with the anoraks at the weekend as well. :D
Been there, done that. :lol1:

Popular thread ;)

People obviously aren't using this site to its full potential! :thumb:

I need fewer than 100 posts for my 50k.

I have TRULY wasted my life on here. :D

Beats working! :D

Met some great people, met some less great people, met refreshingly few complete tossers.

Just like real life, really. Had some interesting ideas, spent money I'd otherwise have wasted on other things (savings, food etc) and found a remarkable number of people I also meet on other forums...

So Ed, B2Z, Les, Moses, Screwd and all the others I'm happy to see here, keep smiling and thanks for the laughs :)

Blimey, I'd have no life if it wasn't for scoobynet :( I was a sad and lonely guy over 3 years ago, no social life to speak of, drinking on my own, or ocasionally with the missus on a sat night. Owned an Bravo hgt at the time, and went for a test drive in a my99 uk turbo in silver. Found scoobynet to check on what the ownership story was like, did lots of lurking and searching (something that some newbies could do with before posting!) and finally took the plunge and bought the car. Then began my social life on scoobynet, and onwards with the smacs :D Met up with an old school mate, who met up with some other lads with scoobys from this area, and the rest is history!
I've met people on scoobynet from all over the uk, and those I've met in person have all become good mates. The sense of community on here is still strong, and I hope the moderators keep that in mind, and start clamping down on the tossers who post dross.
Long live scoobynet, long live the smacs and long live the impreza, in all its forms (especially the 03 sti :))

Scoobynet is very hard to beat for wide and real interest. Certainly can't be considered a waste to be on here.

Les

Les,

have to say I totally agree, its why I'm still here despite having moved on from Scoob ownership a couple of years ago. Can't say I know of another car site with such a wide range of people and knowledge.

Bravo2zero_sps 11 December 2006 01:37 PM

I only came on this site when I told a work colleague who had a scoob already that I wanted to get one, he pointed me here for all questions and answers. Little did I know the addiction this place has and that i'd be approaching 10k posts long after my scoob had gone.

I don't think SN is as good as it used to be in terms of the sheer quality of posts that used to emerge on a daily basis in NSR/CWE but as long as there are still plenty of the decent folk on here (of which there are) I will continue to use SN.

This place has been a wealth of knowledge for me, has provided invaluable help many times (especially in the bike forum which I use instead of a dedicated bike forum as the guys in there are sooo helpful) and many many laughs along the way. There has been no where else on the internet that can match it :)
