360 freezing
 

So, looks like another one bites the dust, out of warranty by a month or so and its locking up, not all the time but often enough to piss me off.

It just stops, cant do anything, the screen just freezes, no red lights or anything, wouldnt mond as it hasnt really been used that much.

If I wanted locking up I would have bought a pc !

That's what my previous 3 started doing a couple of weeks before the red lights...

My machine does this but i normally lose sound and then the r/h tab comes up saying cannot read disc.

mine only does it with cod 3. Fine with everything else.

Mines only on COD 3 as well:(

mine does it on COD2 and NFS MW - sometimes i lose sound first other times it just freezes.
Do i take it back to Game under warranty or do i have to get in touch with Microsoft?

Its a heat issue, just buy the extra fan and all should be well !

Those fans (that take power from the rear of the machine) are not a good idea. Heard several reports of them killing the 360.

They also don't work. Had huge desk fan pointed at the back of my last 360, and that didn't stop it from dying...

Does anyone know what the deal is with MS and out of warranty 360s?
I get the feeling I'm on borrowed time with my launch day machine!

My 360 came with two year warranty. This was also confirmed by Microsoft's Support Centre.

i got mine the day they were released and it broke last week phoned microsoft and they are replacing it for free should have it back tomorro mine just had no picture and had three red lights on front of console they told me this is because all of the first ones had a fault all they asked was for serial no and told me they would repair or replace but all my mates have had theres replaced due to the same fault

Were on our 3rd/4th now, cant even remember how many times ours went back. Got the first one last xmas and it broke on boxing day.

We ended up getting a replacement unit after it broke the last time.

Guess what, it still freezes, only on GRAW tho.

I heard the next 360 will have a cooler running processor. THANK GOD!!

Happened a lot with NFS MW for me but gladly not many others. PGR used to give me problems when the "x is online" boxes appeared but I rarely play it these days.

Ah, so it might be game related, havent seen it on anything else but then again I only have PGR3 and TDU, got Fifa 07 and Lego Star Wars 2 a comin for Christmas, great having kids to justify purchases on !
