fitting a dawes device , what about the 3rd pipe?

:wonder: on my 94 wagon i assume you pull the pipe of the actuator and blank the end of the rubber pipe , then pull of the pipe to the turbo elbow and blank the end of that rubber pipe , then fit a new peice of rubber pipe between actuator and turbo nipple with the dawes device inline (elbow end of dawes going to actuator) BUT what about the other pipe running from the bottom of the boost solenoid to the induction kit/air box bit as this has the restrictor in it ! do you just leave it connected or blank that pipe aswell ???? if you have to blank it of do you just pull it of the bottom of the solenoid and blank the rubber pipe there ????

I'll be doing the same soon so i will need to know aswell, however mine has a 2 port solenoid so its different again. I want to keep the map sensor plumbed in for the fuel cut but its connected via some other device which i dont know what it is...

As far as i know you are supposed to block up all the hoses you remove, but as i say above it will take out the map sensor...

if you do a forum search on fitting a dawes device you will find info on your model (2 port) and there is also info about (3 port) but i cant find info about what you do with the 3rd pipe

SNAP-ON, are you running a 2 or 3 port boost solenoid?

3 PORT SOLENOID

Connect the Dawes between the turbo elbow and actuator. Blank off the two pipes with a bolt and you are done. Remember to set the Dawes at it's longest first and the shorten it to find the required boost level. The pipe that is connected to the bottom of the boost solenoid can still remain to be connected to the resonater box.

Hope this helps,

Nick.

Thank you nick , plumbed it all in and left the other pipe connected as you said ! i was not sure what you had to do with that pipe and knew i would get an answer on here , cheers

Hi,

Can someone confirm that on the 2 port version that its just the boost solenoid that comes off the T peice between the actuator and the turbo nipple? i.e. i want to make sure im not going to remove the map sensor, does the map take its feed from one of the two pipes that go to the manifold?

So i just remove the pipe with the T peice in, fit the dawes, then block off the two pipes that go to the old solenoid?

thanks
nicky
