Sorry posting here....and equally, sorry for being so stupid....and in fact whilst I'm at it, sorry if this has already been posted (Simon please feel free to delete if posted elswhere...)

What time does all the Donnington fun start on Sunday....??

...and if aiming at passengering/watching (having paid the appropriate charitable donation) how do we get in??

Again...apologies if already raised and answered on another thread..

Cheers

Rum

Hi Rum.

Signing on for drivers starts at 07:45 Hrs. Driving starts as soon as that is completed and the safety brief has been given.

Mike.

Rum* 06 November 2000 11:27 PM

Cheers Mike....appreciated.

So basically we need to be at Donno round about that time....

See you on Sunday

johnfelstead 06 November 2000 11:32 PM

rum*

get there for 9am mate, that will be plenty early enough for passengers.

come off the M1 at donington services and follow signs for donington park.

follow the signs to the competitors entrance, not the first right turn to the main entrance, you need to park in the padock area.

Blow Dog 07 November 2000 12:01 AM

May see you there, Tom.
Keep an eye out http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Just to plug our activities...

John F, Simon DB and I will be giving passenger laps for the day, throughout all sessions.

Have your tenners at the ready http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

If your planning to ride with John, bring some wet weather gear and ski goggles http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Rum* 07 November 2000 08:59 AM

Cheers Pete,

Have just arranged for Securicor to deliver my tenners on Friday - looking for loads of laps with as many cars as possible.

Just out of interest which car is best...the 22B or the Caterham Super 7 ? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Stef 07 November 2000 08:19 PM

CK1 not considered a good enough ride now then? Or is it just too dangerous? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif

Stef.

RobMac 07 November 2000 09:11 PM

What do you think?? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

logiclee 07 November 2000 09:18 PM

Talked the wife into letting me come to Donnington. It will be my first track day so I'll be watching this time http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Going to bring a few £10 notes with me. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

A bit of advice needed.
What standard does the helmet need to be approved to?
Any other things a track newbie like myself should know?

Cheers

cwal1 08 November 2000 09:54 AM

Another dumb question, but here goes. Is there a circuit entry fee for cars turning up merely to spectate and if so, how much ?

Also is everyone charging a £10 charity donation for passengers ? What is the best approach for requesting a passenger ride - just turn up in the paddock. pits area and ask ?

Cheers, ChrisW.

SimonD 08 November 2000 10:34 AM

First time I went to a SIDC day at Donnington as a spectator, the guy on the gate made me park outside on the grass.
Last time I drove straight into the area behind the pits (in a BMW!).
After the unfortunate incident at that event does anyone know what the arrangements will be this time?

Simon

harj 08 November 2000 10:56 AM

Any lid can be used at Dono as long as it fits your head! Parking wise, people normally park in the Paddock area. I think that parking may be difficult here later in the day as its suppose to be a big turnout.

Scott J Davies 08 November 2000 11:51 AM

Isn't it also a requirement to waterproof gore tex pants to go in your car.

I'll have mine at the ready.

Is it going to cost £10 per session to go out, serious question, coat please.

SJD

Tim W 08 November 2000 01:23 PM

Scott, I think you'll find that the Gore-Tex pants need to be brown, and Bicyle Clips are advisable... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Also Biker knee pads on the elbows also help http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Stef 08 November 2000 01:30 PM

Well either way, CK1 will be available for passenger rides as always. Just come and ask.
If you want to make a donation (not sure what too yet though http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif ), you're more than welcome.

Stef.

banshi 08 November 2000 01:30 PM

John F
What is it with these questions?

Is it going to cost £10 per session to go out? Is everyone charging a £10...

It's a donation, I assume all the ace racers will be filling the CIN coffers. A couple of trips out will surely not break the bank.

What about £2 per car for admission to the paddock? It should be a great day and bloody good value for a couple of quid, even if you dont get to ride the circuit.

Scott J Davies 08 November 2000 01:32 PM

Tim I was talking about going in Johns car, from your need pad shenanigans sounds like your were talking of becoming a Donno fluffer http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Tim W 08 November 2000 11:03 PM

Scott, glad you posted the 'Fluffer' remark, nearly forgot to watch Ally this evening!

Well, it's true, on a bike you get your knee's down, in a 7 you can get your elbow down http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

johnfelstead 08 November 2000 11:13 PM

Take a look at

Mossman 09 November 2000 08:04 AM

Scott! LOL!

Fluffers should be recommended at all times!
Oh for my film days! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif
