Do SPECS cameras work in the dark?

Was thining about this on my way back from Stansted last night... surely the light from the headlights make it hard for the SPECS cameras to read the number plates?

Most video cameras wouldn't see the numberplate due to the automatic iris, which would dim everything out except headlights. I imagine they have this covered :)

Yep, they work 24/7 :thumb:

Switch lanes when in a SPECS Camera area .... and you are free :D

Each camera has a pair of IR illuminators for night time work.

Regardless, most spec cameras are on lit motorways anyway.
