My original Bridgestone potenzas on the front of my MY00 are pretty worn but the rears are still okay. I want to get some Eagle F1 replacements.
Can I move my rear Bridgestones to the front and put the Eagle F1s on the rear or is it better to get all 4 replaced together?

Exactly the same dilema I had a few weeks ago. My front tyres were getting close to the wear bands but the rears still had a good 4mm left. I think replacing just the fronts with Goodyear Eagle F1's is a bad move as the front tyres will be much more grippy than the backs, especially in the wet!! Last thing you want is to go into a bend in the wet and lose the backend. If you replace the front tyres with more Re010's this will probably be safer but unless funds are a bit tight at the moment I would definitely take this oportunity to replace the whole set. Is it really worth risking dodgy handling for the sake of another £150 - £200??

In the end I went for a set of 4 Goodyear Eagle F1's (Make sure it is the GS-D2's) and paid £390 all in. I have been told that if you know where to look you can get a set for nearer £300.

I don't thrash my car around but even I have noticed the car seems to feel a whole lot better and doesn't tramline like it used to with the RE010's. Also in my opinion they look damn sexy which is always important!

Get the Goodyear Eagle F1's you won't regret it.

Cheers for the info Joey.... I was a bit worried about the difference in grip between the two types of tyre and the possibility of unbalancing the car on a corner.

I'll have a look round for a set of 4 GS-D2s

There seems to be some good deals to be had on 16" Goodyear f1's
Tyres Npton are £ 80.00 (each) incl VAT valve and balance based on a set of four.

Shop around

Just to echo Joeys comments, i find F1's to be a great tye, no tramlining and superb grip wet or dry, always difficult to compare new against the 'old' tyres as they are usually well past their best by the time i come to change them. i am on my second set of F1's.

Hi guys,
I would also say be very careful of loss of grip level with new tyres:( Take it a bit easy for the first 600miles and run them in.
It scared me silly the first time I had new S02's fitted. Scoob went from handling like a Race car:D to Travant :eek: Massive tyre squealing and understeer and then bite and oversteer (time to change pants).
It has taken me a while to get my confidence back or perhaps rightly so, slowed me down showing invincible mode off:eek:
