Hey guys, I'm new, and I have got a stupid question lol....

Hey guys, I haven't actually got an impreza yet but I am currently on the lookout and as soon as a decent one pops up, it will be minee!! I just wanted to ask a daft question about 'em, but it might actually cause me a real problem lol......

Okay, so there are 3 cars in my household, and just one driveway. I am nearly always the last one in at night, but then my parents are out before me in the morning. So every morning, my dad has to move my car out of the drive.....move his car out......then move mine back in. So....the car is started, driven out of the drive for about 20 seconds, switched off, left a bit while he moves the other car, then started again and driven back into the drive and then switched off again. You might be wondering what the hell I'm on about by now......but I've read lots of stuff about letting imprezas warm up before you drive them, and letting them idle for a bit before you switch them off aswell. So is all that stopping & starting every morning gonna knacker the engine? Or will it be okay cuz it doesn't really have the chance to get warm, and you only have to let the car idle for a bit after it's warmed up fully and had a good drive?

Sorry for the daft question, but cheers in advance for your answers!!

Si :)

Should be fine!

The warming up is like any car - dont rev it hard whilst cold wait for a good reading on the temp guage . So running it for a few seconds cold and then turning it off again. No problem.

Only after a hard drive do you need to let it run and warm down - due to the high heat of the oil knackering the turbo. Many people - myself included just let the engine run for a min ot two as a matter of course. Wont do any harm.

Hope this helps
Steve :)

Cheers Steve, that has answered my question perfectly! :thumb:

I'm sure I'll have plenty more daft questions tho, once I actually get an impreza! :lol1:

had to move my dads car then move my cally then put his back. Never caused any probs.

same now with scoob pull out of garage turn engine off. Lock garage up turn engine back ect. No probs at all.

Just let her cool down as above when given her some boost.
