Local dealer tells me money off vouchers £1000 for existing subaru owners on the way

I hated it in the pictures, and my fears were confirmed when I saw it in the flesh! Looks like it's been repeatly happy slapped with ugly sticks by a gang of hoodie clad chavs!

My local dealer invited me to see the one bought in for the staff to look over in early October. I somehow blagged a 10 mile run in it. Not really my cup of tea although i can understand if you were loyal to the brand and had a need for a fairly comfy MPV for longish runs and no regard for fuel economy it could be of interest.

It does look better in the metal than on the pictures. The quality of the interia is lacking something for a £30,000+ car and access and space is somewhat limited in the rear 2 seats (if you go for the 7 seat version).

My wife took the demo car out at the weekend and despite being handed the key and us being told to bring it back whenever we were done it only took 4 minutes for her to get back from the run!

They have been designed for the American market. Over there the big selling points are that it's a cheap SUV that has good crash protection and isn't easy to roll (most of the big SUV's in the states are classed as trucks so they don't have to meet the same crash/safety standards as cars).
I test drove one over a year ago in the US, back to back with a Forester. For the money you would pay in the US it's a very good car, but over here it's just average.

I don't think it looks that bad! well admit pics make it look worse in the flesh its ok,and the spec etc I thought it was good.
A bargain to be had when used me thinks...
Only thing annoyed me was you can only have black leather with a silver car?!? why....
Considering the se7 in silver with black leather..depends on the deal.
Feedback I have had is that fuel consumption not as bad as you would think and drives superb,if maybee alittle underpowered but hey its not something to buy for its pace.

I've spotted loads of car transporters coming in through Dover port full of Tribecas. Started about a month and a half ago. Didn't look as bad "in the tin" as they do in the pictures. Still not a pretty car car by any stretch of the imagination though...!!
