MY04 Impreza Sti Wheels on a 2.5 Forester XT

Hey all!

I own a MY04 2.5 Forester XT. Since i have upgraded my brakes to 4pot, i have been using 17 inches Prodrive P7 rims (7x17 ET52) for the last year with 225-55/17 tyres without facing any problems.

A friend of mine has 4 spare rims coming from a MY04 Impreza Sti (7.5x17 ET52). I was thinking of getting and using them for backup during track days and/or fitting them with snow tyres. Does anyone know whether these rims will fit my car without problems? I have been reading about problems with the rear struts. I have also changed the suspension to a Sti one.

The guy that gave me the rims says so, some people in other subaru forums claim that in XT's with original suspension, the rear wheels "touch" the rear strut. Is there anyone that has done this mod or that has seen it working?
