not choosey then;) . have you tried the usual suspects like autotrader? maybe not ebay, unless your good with engines for checking etc...

good luck fella

theres a few on autotrader for 13995, not sure if i can get them down to 12, my bargaining tool is though that ive got 12g cash so hopefuly that wil give me a bit of an advantage

chocolate_o_brian 12 November 2006 02:29 PM

always a good thing having cash there and then, but have a look at a few. everybody on here will tell you the same. and see if any have extended warrantee too. could be handy. you after a uk or jdm?

andy

RLE 12 November 2006 08:36 PM

you would have to be pretty damn desperate to drop from £13995 down to £12k.

My mate has been looking for a few months with a similar budget and there's not that many about. Tend to be high milers; lacking service history or generally just dogs! He's decided a WRX might be his better option as he will just be modding it with a bigger turbo etc in a few months time.

wrx-kenny 13 November 2006 08:06 AM

preferably a UK one andy due to insurance purposes, its going to cost me £1700 as it is so a JDM one will prob bump that price up a fair whack.

ive got everything arranged with the bank, they said i just have to phone them and the money will be in my account within 10 mins, so all i need is to sort a car. ive had my eye on one on autotrader, its 13995, 2003 with 34,000 miles, its at 13995 and its been there for over a month so im hoping theyl drop the price to shift it for the end of the month

wrx-kenny 13 November 2006 09:47 AM

spotted this one, its on autotrader and on ebay

eBay.co.uk: SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0 WRX STI 32,000 MILES FSH 53 PLATE (item 250048607882 end time 18-Nov-06 14:45:44 GMT)

not sure about buying a car on ebay though...

TonyBurns 13 November 2006 10:06 AM

I seriously doubt that you will pick up a blobeye STi for 12k unless its got mega miles or is a cat c/d repaired car.
You "may" be able to get a bug eye for near 12k, and id forget the ebay one, the mods alone will just add stupid ammounts to your insurance.

Tony

TonyBurns 13 November 2006 10:14 AM

Autotrader have a few on there, there is a ppp 03 for sale at 11.5k with less than 40k on the clock (private so do a hpi check), autotrader has like 12 02 STi's and 3 or 4 03 STi's, just do a seach between 11-12k, note that mods will add to your insurance and do a national search, just one near home probably wont get you anywhere, for these prices your going to need to travel, oh and take note of servicing and fuel costs, these are not cheap cars to run and most will be due a 500+ quid service.

Tony:)

CT_dunmow 13 November 2006 03:04 PM

You wont get a blob for that money, however you will get a lovely bug sti with ppp 02 plate with 47k miles on the clock for it. Infact i may have one that just like that for sale...

alwong 13 November 2006 03:44 PM

Are you after a standard Blob-eye STI??

yeah preferably a standard STI,

I saw the wrx ppp, but im really wanting an sti, its got a few things the wrx dont have ie 6 gears, 6 pot brembos, and the interior appeals to me aswell

to the guy that saw this car in s****horpe, dont suppose you have seen it being "ragged" about or that ??

pippyrips 13 November 2006 06:23 PM

assuming you mean me fella?

il be honest, ive not seen it like everyday or anything, but when i have seen or heard it, its been driven sensibly, which cant be said for a lot of chavved up examples round here. if i had the money, put it this way, id be interested.

give em a call. cant harm anyone can it, besides your bank manager, and he may compromise on price. regarding the mods, if there is sufficient paper work and reciepts etc, that could also help as its obviously not quite standard. sounds beautiful though. was one of the sounds i tried to model my old classic wrx on. beefy as fooook!

andy

wrx-kenny 14 November 2006 08:08 AM

thanks andy, ive emailed the guy about it, going to check insurance today regarding the mods, if need be i can prob get another £500 from the bank :)
