Eibach Springs Knocking
MY99 RB5
Had Eibachs and a load of other work done at Powerstation a few years ago now and they have been great. Since fitting there has been a knocking under the car that I never really got to the bottom of, and due to the distance and being lazy never bothered contacting PS about it. Anyway I've been using the car more recently and it's beginning to drive me mad. All the roll bars, bushes, drop links and exhaust hangers have been replaced, everything secure in boot, bootlid OK nothing obviously loose underneath. A search on here has pointed to the Eibach springs I have. The noise from the front passenger side mainly and I think possibly the rear aswell. I believe that there is a sleeve that can be easily put on the bottom of the spring - where can I get them from or can I just put some hosepipe or something (yeah I know!) over them? Cheers Paul |
up for the evening!

yep - had this with mine. Got curtis in powerstation to put some spring wrap round the top and bottom of the springs. Made it much better. I think it's causd by the sring not sitting perfectly in the cup

if the springs arnt seated properly in the cup you could undo the top nut and take it for a slow drive then tighten them back up! worked on mine! theres rubber on both ends of the seats anyway!!

Thanks for your advice guys.
I was under the impression that the front ones had no rubber (these are probably 5 years old). When you say top nut wez do you mean at the top of the shockers, that's got to be worth a try if it's easy? Cheers Paul |
yep the one at the top of the shock, hold with allen key crack the nut, one to 2 turns tops!! ull have to take out the seat to get to the rears, only takes 10mins! 4 bolts!
