Andy F is the man, based in Scotland but does travel.

do you have an aftermarket ecu already???? If not I think you would struggle to get a power fc fitted and mapped for £500
For £500 I think you would be looking at something like a scoobyecu or a esl chip with enough change for a decat downpipe and uprated fuelpump (depending on other mods)

There is skoobyteknix in preston they have a mapper who posts on here called AndrewC

£500 isn't gonna be enough to get a good mapper, maps are norm around £550 +vat + Rolling road time so gonna be out of your budget.

my advice, save a bit more ;)

i have a z4 ecu at the moment with a hayward & scott decat down pipe. i emailed scooby clinic and they want £480+vat for a remap. so im looking at around £560 all in. Does anyone think i should go with that?

Tidgy 08 November 2006 11:13 PM

clinic will do a top job mate, pat herborn does there mapping and he mapped my car on there rr, goes very well indeed and pops bangs and spits flames out lol

powerwrx 08 November 2006 11:16 PM

excellent, just what im after, what gains did you get mate, and what car was it you had mapped

Tidgy 08 November 2006 11:21 PM

mines a uk turbo, went from 223bhp 214ftlb, with mods (decat and pannelfilter) and also it not running right, to 258bhp and 280ftlb with it running great :D

tbh expected about 260/260 so not sure y its kicking out 280ftlb

powerwrx 08 November 2006 11:25 PM

good figures, ill be happy with a gain of 30ish bhp, that will take mine to almost 300bhp:luxhello:

Tidgy 08 November 2006 11:26 PM

what car is it?

powerwrx 08 November 2006 11:30 PM

my94 wrx, running 267bhp with just a z4 upgrade and backbox. Ive had a decat downpipe fitted since i got these figures so it should have a few more ponies with that, then if i remap i should make 300 i hope

Tidgy 08 November 2006 11:34 PM

not sure what you'll be limited by, turbo should be ok for 300 (td05 isn't it) might need to change fuel pump though

powerwrx 08 November 2006 11:46 PM

td05 yeah (i think) probably gonna go for a uprated fuel pump (walbro)

Tidgy 09 November 2006 12:01 AM

would have thought 300bhp is possible then, pat will map it on the safer side of limit as well so should last a while rather than stupid power then engine goes bang in 5 weeks
