Flat spotted tyre :(

I bought a set of nearly new tyres on Ebay with 5-6mm tread on them. Saved myself a fair bit on a new set becuse they are quality tyres and they looked fine when they turned up. Finally after 5 weeks got round to fitting them on the car only to find that they have a massive flat spot presumeably where the previous owner locked up and then got rid of them, havent checked to see if they are both as bad as each other yet but one is certainly bad.

Is there anything I can do to help sort this? I have seen rally teams with electric cutting tools to cut out or reduce tread on tyres so would it be possible to run a 4.5mm bit all the way around to level them off? I know its a long shot but there is no way I will sell these on to anyone and its been too long to go back to the Ebay seller who if anything will blame me for the flat spot ....that will teach me to buy second hand tyres that looked like a good deal.

Ideas anyone? :(

Figure out which ones are worst and stick them on the back... If you still can't live with it, take them back to the sellers house and set fire to them in the middle of his lawn.

As far as i know i don't think you can do anything about the tread ie re-cutting. Sadly this is the risk you take buying second hand tyres which is something i personnaly would never do as you never know their full history.

Learnt my lesson, will try it on the back to see how bad it is on there.
