Changed Coolant and now it runs VERY COLD!

HI people,

Quick question, I dont know if anyone has come across this before...

I did my clutch at the weekend and changed my coolant in the process..

Now after checking for air locks and putting new coolant in, the car runs VERY VERY cold.. with the cold weather at the moment the oil temp is running at like 70 to 80 degrees and the Coolant on the motorway at 65 to 80, annoying as it slips into warmup mode sometimes and runs bloody rich.

I know its not a sensor failure as the oil temps are a lot lower than normal..

Im guessing the thermostat is staying open but anyone had this problem before!?? Just strange how drainign the coolant and refilling caused this!

does sound like the stat, my temps were similar when I ran without one for a few days

Thats interesting to note..

have orderd stat and gasket just strange how just emptying and refilling the coolant has made it go wrong!

Im guessing the rad on an sti is very efficient and can get the temps down that low easily when moving with a cold evening....

PArt arrives sat so guess I will know then!!
