need help too much boost!
 

Right i'll try to explain my problem:
WRX 93 standard engine ( replacement fitted last week )
Running max boost of 1.4bar, and hitting fuel cut too easily.
Had a look at the ECU to find it had a SUPERCHIPS ABC chip fitted, this has been removed - guess what still boosts to 1.4 bar, now other parts i have found fitted to the car include a atmospheric bleed valve in the engine bay (don't know anything about this its what a mechanic mate said it was)

I need help to turn the boost down, i don't want this engine melting on me.

Sounds like the bleed valve was being used to set boost pressure, i would take this out as you have removed the superchip and put the boost control back to standard. Assuming the solenoid is still there!!!

split vacumn pipe or boost solenoid problem ? check all vacumn pipes and clean boost solenoid , are all pipes going to the right places after engine fitted ? try doing a code check to , 1.4 bar is a lot in standard form ! also did j1 connector get re soldered after removing chip ? also check if the restrictor is still in the pipe leading from the bottom of boost solenoid if its been changed !

yes superchips use the bleed valve to set the boost level, the chip in the ecu will just be to raise the boost cut limit.

The bleed valve could be connected in 2 ways, it could be connected on your original boost lines (from the solenoid to the turbo) or just directly on the turbo itself. If it is connected in your original boost pipework then it is a case of removing it and replacing with a suitable length of hose, this will then take you back to standard boost management.
If it is connected directly on the turbo then you need to check that the boost solenoid is still in place and connected (I imagine it would be otherwise you would be getting a CEL) . You will need to connect it up as standard (cannot remember which hose goes to where, but a search should reveal all)

the bleed valve fitted was adjustable and was fully out. Tested it by removing it and pluging the pipe now boost as standard .8 bar.:luxhello:
May fit the valve back in to allow 1.0 bar boost:norty:

1 bar is a good safe margin on that year of car with decent fuel.
