APEXI INDUCTION KIT QUESTION

Hi
Have just got Apexi induction kit for pre-96 sti ra. In the kit is a restrictor that goes intercooler side of the recirc dump valve. My questions are

1. Why is it required?

2. Do i still need to fit it if i have an atmosphric dump valve (which i do)

Thanks
Tim

I've got an apexi for a 93wrx and it wasn't fitted when i had a VTA, changed to a standard recirc and wasn't fitted (i'm guessing its the silver cylinder about an inch long that i've still got in the box).
I have the instructions but unfortunately its in Japanese.
You could speak to Simon Roe (Jolly Green Monster - ECU Mapping) as he supplies and fits them

Thanks for your input i also have the instructions in jap and don't see a need for it but why would they supply it if it wasn't needed????

Perhaps its to fit the 1 of the other cars listed on the front (my ik kit is 507-F001) which fits the Legacy.

Thanks for your reply. I think it needs to be fitted if you have the OE recirc dump valve because it may not be strong enough to cope with the extra airflow generated when the induction kit is fitted what do you think???

Thing is i haven't got it fitted and the car runs fine with the standard recirc.I did have a vta with the Apexi fitted (but not the restrictor), I now have the standard recirc and Apexi (no restrictor) and the car is fine.
The only thing is that my car is a wrx not a STI i don't know if this makes a difference.
