Hi,

My front brake pads need changing and I was wondering if there are any cheaper and better (oxymoronic?) alternatives to the £100 Subaru ones?

I have a MY99, therefore need 4 pot pads - what are the Mintex like?

Cheers

The Mintex 1155 are supposed to be good for hard use. They are hard on the disks however.
The Mintex 1144 have been reported as being a good fast road pad. They should produce less wear than 1155.
I think the Pagids would be out of your price range.

I've got Mintex M1155 pads fitted to my MY00. The discs warped soon after fitting - maybe just coincidence? I've now got Bremsport Group N discs fitted and they seem ok. I bought the pads from Falkand Performance - www.falkland.co.uk - they give SIDC discount and they arrived the day after ordering.

Cheers,

Ian.
