Toilet seats

Strange one but here goes

We have three toilets made by Barrhead Kintyre in the house, which we have had to replace the seats once already, they need replacing again.

The current seats are approx 390x435, foil covered compressed mdf, that do not last long at all, they are also expensive.

Does anyone know of other seat supplier that we could use, as normal seats ie from B&Q, Ikea etc the hinges are right they are a different shape and do not sit correctly.

Cheers

Nick

Have a chat with a local woodworker, they'll be able to route you one out of some solid wood quite cheaply.

Are you absolutely sure about the hinges? Just replaced one of mine, the hinges at first appeared to be wrong but on closer inspection they are multi-position and can be pivoted round to fit properly.

BTW, can't wait until Tiggs sees this thread...

As I said the hinges are right, they needed adjusting but because the seat itself is the wrong shape it does not sit on the pan correctly.

Hadn't thought about this, may be the only option
