Changing hydraulic tappets for solid tappets?

I have a 95 wrx jdm. And I'm presuming I have hydraulic tappets.

But the questions are:

Whats the difference between hydraulic and solid tappets?

Which is the best tappets?

Can solid tappets be fitted in a hydraulic tappets heads?

Thanks
Chris

Hi there Chris
the hydraulic tappets are like small piston's thay fill up with oil, make show you use the right oil :thumb: Tony

Solid tappets run to higher revs, hence why they are used on STis and higher states of tune.

So, there is any problems with fitting solid tappets in a hydraulic tappet heads then?

dont know the answer to your question, but surely it would be easier fitting complete heads that come with the solid lifters as std than changing the wrx ones?
