Just bought myself a bargain!!!.
Uk spec STi 6 speed gearbox and DCCD diff
Drive shaft
Starter motor
Rear R180 diff
Rear diff subframe
Front and rear axles
DCCD control unit
Front transmission mounts
Rear Hubs
Flywheel
Complete shifter
All bolts and brackets
The entire package for a 6 speed gearbox swap taken from a Uk 2004 Sti that covered only 20,000 miles. I'm going to start looking a stripping the transmission off my car once I've bought a new clutch.

Just can't control myself when it comes to spending on this flipping car. I realise what everyone is on about when refering to the rollercoaster of spending with Subaru ownership. I'll be filing for bankruptcy after this car is finished.:lol1:

Weight is the only downside. But alot cheaper than the PPG gearset I originally had in mind. I'll strip everything out and do Santa Pod in just my bundies come next year.:lol1:

uk specs came with dccd from 05 onwards i think other than the WR1

Just received email from seller and he is positive it's a 2004 UK spec STi gearbox with DCCD so I can only guess it's from a WR1 as you've kindly pointed out. He has also mentioned it's actual mileage is 12,500 instead of less than 20,000 I was originally quoted, Even better!!!.

Only downside is I'm driving to Scotland Friday night to collect the following morning as he has other bits I'm interested in. But going to make a mini weekend break with the mrs out of it.:)

I've never seen one go that cheap on ebay, i'll have to keep an eye out for another one.

I'm always scouting about on Ebay so if I notice any other gearbox bargains I'll give you a shout. This Guy in which I bought mine is a breaker so I'll ask if he knows of anymore going on the cheap. He was willing to take 700 quid originally before everyone started to bid against me.:thumb:

Jon . No need to be as drastic as stripping down to the bundies just need some simple weight saving . Lending me those Porshe calipers might be a good start:lol1:(Being ur best mate an all) Some of those t25 suspension mods must be pretty weighty too. I am sure we can find them a home on my car.

There Porsche 6 pots on A&P 355mm discs. Could really do with some proper harnesses as you start to distrust your standard seat belts with the stopping power they produce.:thumb:

1060 quid off eBay!!!!, I new it was too good to be true. After seller not wanting to accept Paypal I though not to worry I'll send a cheque either way I'm covered by eBay. Great, he doesn't accept either as he is getting devorced and prefers if the soon to be ex wife dosen't know of any extra money. He wants me to transfer money using Western Union in which it self costs 10% of the total amount transferred and to top it all off it's not traceable and eBay will not allow for payment using this method. So when mentioning I'm not happy as he has zero feedback he offers me another way, a fake escrow service shipping company's information. If you haven't guessed yet I'm starting to get a little concerned, so not one to lose out on a bargain even if the guy is a little dodgy. I email him to say I'll collect the goods over the weekend, oddly enough he is not able to arrange collection but sends his address to arrange for another day. Being in investigator mode I check the address it's a taxi company in Forfar Scotland. I track the number and give them a call, asking the gentleman who answers if he has heard of Mr D Stichk and whether there is any flats above or behind the taxi office, answer NO. I kindly email Mr D Stichk back with my findings and all has gone quiet. To top it all of I've contacted all other eBay members who bidded on the item telling them that he is a scammer and informed the police and eBay. Don't buy anything from Mr Dave Stichk, eBay id chk_0095. Well that should stop him ripping anyone else off for a while, until the b@r$tw@rd changes his name any how.

I wouldn't buy anything of someone on ebay with less than 30 feedbacks, Unless they were local and could go nad see the thing. I always read the feedbacks to make sure they arn't just cd's or bits of grass.

Always use Paypal, The most I spent on ebay was £1K on a watch, but I paid by credit card direct to the company just to be on the safe side.

i know the feeling - i've just bought a pair of spot lights on here £10 more expensive than i could have got them but one seller had 6 posts and been a member for 1 week, the other 5000+ posts and a member for 4 years!

In the end got one offf a guy on here:)
Wont buy anything off ebay unless lots of sales and near 100% feed back.
If items are sold through e bay, ebay should at least protect the buyer.

Gutted, thought it was a bit cheap, seen loads of people trying on scams like this in the last few months, especially when i was looking for my Apline DVD Screen.

Have seen where people have built up feedback selling thing's for 1p to loads of another 0 feedback members (probably to themselves registered under loads of different e-mail addresses)

Have also seen where someones account has been hacked, there was a guy who was a lock specialist (all he sold was padlocks etc). Then he had a load of one day auctions for very expensive electrical goods at a 1/4 of there value and in the listing it said to contact via e-mail (not the ask seller a question) on contacting him he only excepted Western Union, but on the guys genuine listing for locks he excepted Paypal.

Have also seen a link in a listing which is suppost to take you to the "sellers shop" but when you click on it you get sent to a fake Ebay log-in screen (looks almost identical to Ebay but the address isn't a secure https, just an IP address). Obiously some sort of password grabber.

Have to be careful on ebay these days there r so many scammers on there and ebay just don't seem interested, i reported one of these problems to ebay and they sent it back to me saying i'd sent it to the wrong department. They get listing fees for all the these fake listings so i suppose there happy.

Sorry to hear about this Jon . At least one good thing has come of it as in it opens ur eyes to some of the W##kers that are out there meaning hopefully you won't get messed around again. Hope it all turns out ok.
