Fibre Managment
Well,
The cores getting a bit full now of wires, and the cable managment is brilliant. I was just wondering what other people use to manage all their fibre's better. Much appreciated Si |
From what and to what, in cabinet, cross cabinet?
Lots of Labels, Different colours, the right length cables (Harder with fibre) Proper planning, and 'comb' style management |
Hi dave,
Cross Cabinet mainly. Just in the process of gettin labels etc. Just looking for "better" horizontal managment to use really, as the stuff were using just doesnt seem to do the job. Cheers. Si |
How big is the datacenter?
Data Above the ceiling? Cable trays across the top of cabinets?? Simple solution is patch panels between cabinets. I try to specify there should be no cross cabinet cables each cab should be a seperate entity. David |
A pair of scissors is good for cable management :D
We've just finished a new 75 bedroom hotel which was a pain as the architects forgot to put a server/comms room into the original plans  |
I see what you mean, but in reality its wouldnt happe, especially now its in and 24/7 up time required. Just got the core switch, distribution etc in one side the other side roughly 20 ,32 core fibre tray's.
bet that was fun chris ! ! In our new build its being flood wired, could play 5a-side in the serverroom. S |
Just a tad Si. If you want to pull a server out the rack, you have to open the doors into the conference room  :D
