Another in the series of ‘taking the pi55’

This month..its’ Dave ‘Blagger’ Watson and his amazing mechanical brain.

David, to his friends, has been with the club from day one. I don’t remember him too well from that first day, as he was probably as shy, nervous and retiring as the rest of us. Today however, is different. He’s a solid member who’s main claim to fame has been the organisation of every Blyton Track day. Now embedded in folk lore, these twice yearly days are the epitome of what the club is about.. cheap, and Dave is as cheap as they get.

It still evades me how he managed to blag my boot lid (with STI spoiler) from Iain Litchfield for nowt. It also evades me how he managed to blag Simons AST suspension for a measly few bob… In fact his whole upgrade path cost less than a meal out at the Pizza Hut. James on the other hand has spent millions on a set of wheels and some shiny pipes.

When he's not persuading you to part with some expensive gear for nothing, he can be seen reading up on all things car related… want to know how much torque pressure to put on that springy thing near that.. er,, bendy pipe affair in the engine or get the low down on geometry settings or AST rebound & damping nonsense? Dave’s your man..

He can also teach you every nook and cranny of every decent driving road in the North.. and some in the South…
Want to know how much pressure to apply to get the best from your meguirs? Interested in the nuances of Hi Fi?

You get the picture… this bloke is fabulous at meetings and knows every Google page….. but second to only IT techs in the table of crushing geeks, Dave is also a driving instructor, so don’t invite him to a party…ever.

His seedy past remains quiet for now, however, he has been known to model clothes… Not quite C&A.. more like the famous designer Mat alan.. Dave is not a designer or fashion guru…and is more than happy to get 4 pairs of trousers, 3 shirts and a jacket from £5. Strange thing is… he always looks as good as the Schott, Ted Baker & K-swiss shod devotees that attend the meets..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...d/DSCF8667.jpg

He also doesn’t work in the same way we all do.. He works a few nights in the week and apparently sleeps the whole time.. he then comes home with a decent wage and has every weekday to himself…don’t you just hate him???

Come along and see how you can save zillions by living the Dave way… it works for him and it’ll work for you. You may have to recycle your urine and swat up on the molecular differences of 5-40 & 10-40 Fuchs oils, but it’ll be worth it…especially if you can also get the girl… Hi Helen..:D

He's recently sold his beloved, superbly cherished and blaggingly upgraded car (above) and he's still in mourning, so I've gone quite easy on him... But if you want to put the boot in.. come and say Hi to him at the next End of Month meet on the 26th.. starting from 7:30...
