I got myself a Cossie
 

I've wanted one for years and finally this evening I got one. It's in need of a little work but it's all there and drives well :) It's supposed to be standard apart from the exhaust but it goes very very well :wonder:

Get a photo up of the under bonnet area and lets have a look. :)

It's not got a boost gauge in it has it? If it's on the standard injectors (yellows) then it shouldn't be running any more than 14 psi to be safe.

Here you go I've just been outside and taken this :) No boost gauge yet.

I have a very rare saph stored, it has been for the last 8 years. My all time favourite car :D

I am going to get it all refurbished & store the fooker in a glass case.

Ps those wheels arent right for the car but all the same its still a Cosworth :D

Yes, its the 2wd version

They are the right wheels and because it's a 2 wheel drive one the bonnet is correct too :)

yep thats the right bonnet as it is a two wheel drive you can tell from no vents in the bonnet and a water level sensor in the header tank those are the standard wheels on the 2wd that is quite a rare colour for a 2wd just be careful with third gear if it set up properley you should just be able to get 18 psi of boost with good fuel presure

if i was to ever go back to a cossie it would be a 2wd saph i previously had a escort cos and it was w@!k t25 small turbo:cry:

From the photo's the rear end is a bit darker than the rest of the car.

Also the car looks as if its on an original turbo as well, totally unmolested :D

Get it modded ...... though beware if you turn up he boost as they melt as easy as a cadburys bar in a microwave :)

I love rear wheel drive cars and 2 friends have had rear wheel drive cosworths in the past and I liked the way they drive. Another friend had the escort but I prefered the rear wheel drive ones :)

I've got to give it a service and check over before I can think of doing much else.

I'd have to agree with you, i dont think that these wheels are right for a cosworth, i thought they were more like xr4i wheels.?

I don't know. It might just be the light in the photos but it looked ok in daylight earlier. I'll give it a clean tomorrow and get some more photos :)

I really liked that it still had the standard dump valve, I have never seen a Cosworth with a standard dump valve ever!

It's got full history and old MOTs to confirm the mileage and it's a low mileage example too :D

i personaly wouldnt stage 3 it as they are worth much more standard as there are very few left, a well set up standard 2wd will keep up with a stg1 or poss stg2 4wd as it has very ilttle transmision loss:thumb:

Would guess that most 17 year old cars have had a bit of paint here and there.

Looks an honest motor Paul. Just like my Old Man's way back in 1989. God I loved that car.

Get it cleaned tomorrow & get some pics up. I might even be tempted to head down to the yard & take some photos of my old 4wd rouge ;) :D

It's not in bad shape at all :) I'm very happy so far. I've realised that the only other mods are the front indicators and the rear lights and number plate panel.

Clear fronts really make a difference on the old fords. Are the rear lights smoked ??

Looks like an unmolested example you have there. Only thing I can see as not original is the front indicators. The clear ones make it look younger. Has it got the "neutral" black rear lights too? Personally I'd go to stage 1 (270BHP) at most. Reliability suffered on mine when almost new.

I will tomorrow, i really need to go down & see if the old girl is still intact, once the house has been finished then its project rouge, it needs a full body restoration but none of the panels have rust, i just want it back to concourse condition.

Agree about the smoked lights. Originals cost nowt at a scrappy. Hows the interior? I really need to clear out the garage and get some more of my old cars back...

The seats are in very good condition which is odd, all the ones I've seen recently have burns or holes in but these are really nice.

Thats really good. The fabric was discontiued years ago, so re trims were a no no. The leather was a bit thin and wore quickly in abused cars. I'm so envious....what did you pay for it, if you don't mind....:)

I paid £2k for it but it has no dashboard fitted, no MOT and no tax at the moment. The dash was removed to sort and immobiliser problem and everything is in the boot. It's only done 86k :) I was suprised by the feel of the brakes, they are much better than the Scoob 4 pots that I fitted to my old Legacy.
