'93 WRX, where to now?

As per title, I have a 1993 WRX with panel filter and full decat. Currently running at around 280BHP with an ESL chip and 1.1 Bar of boost. Been running sweet as for 6 months now and I'm after another step up in performance.

I was thinking of new injectors, new alloy TMIC and an Apexi ECU.
Realistically will this have any chance of taking me over 300BHP? I know I'm probably chancing it with the gearbox, but if it goes, then it goes and ill have to have it rebuilt properly. Also I'm not after any rediculous power out of this engine in the long term, so this will be the last 'tune up' on it before I move on to another car (famous last words!).

My question is can this set up stand a chance of 300BHP and what will torque be like with a good map?

with 280 now, a change to bigger injectors (550cc yours will have 380cc wouldnt bother with the 440cc) and a fmic (for the cost it makes more sense to have a front mount over a tmic) you can get over 300 if you use the apexi, probably be looking at 320ish which will be a very very quick car

Ported standard headers and up-pipe from Harvey Smith would also help significantly. You'll need a separate boost controller if you want to run over 1.1 bar.

I see you have a 13 year old WRX running at 1.4odd bar of boost from your signature, what spec and power are you running? Is it worth replaceing the headers or can the old ones just be ported?

You dont want to know my spec, as it cost Łk's and I dont want to encourage you to blow a load of cash :).

Although running 1.45 bar peak, Its currently not mapped at full potential in order to preserve the gearbox, so power figures aren't really relevent.

For what you are aiming for, porting and wrapping the ORIGINAL headers and adding an aftermarket up-pipe is a cheap outlay for a lot of gain. You do need the Apexi for full benefit though.
