SPARK PLUG REMOVAL 2001 WRX

Hi, Can anyone tell me how to get at the plugs on my 2001 wrx please? Is it just a case of removing washer bottle, battery and the air box or is there more to it?. They look pretty difficult to get at!

Thanks in advance!

You don't need to remove the battery, just the washer bottle and airbox. They are a bit fiddly, but just be patient and make sure you have a socket set with lots of different size connectors and extension bars.

I did this a couple months ago.

On your right
Take off a couple of screws holding on the washer bottle and that enables you to lift it out the way. Yes remove battery - you'll appreciate the extra space this gives you so invest the small amount of time required.

On your left
Yup remove the plastic parts (air intake) and box (in two halves).

The most fiddley part of all this is getting the right tools - you need a bendy connector on your socket set and a long socket to reach the plugs.

Cheers,
D
