So sad. :(

Never heard of him, but quite sad, and young too

I was 24 when I was first diagnosed, and then 26 when I got it again, beat it twice and turned 38 today, and still going strong :)

Bravo2zero_sps 09 October 2006 11:09 PM

Had just seen this on Sky News, couldn't believe it. I thought he was getting better, not on deaths door! 27 yrs old, what a terrible waste of life and leaves a wife and young daughter.

Nido 09 October 2006 11:11 PM

Paul Hunter dies

That's really sad, I thought his treatment was working as he was still on the pro circuit last time I watched.

Thoughts go out to his wife and daughter, that's too young to die :(

RIP Paul

davegtt 09 October 2006 11:11 PM

Sad, good snooker player too. Cant believe how young he is still and for it to end like that, puts plenty into perspective.

ScoobLou 09 October 2006 11:14 PM

That is sad. I used to enjoy watching him play :(

skyline gtr v 09 October 2006 11:14 PM

And you failed to notice two other threads with the same sentiment.

Thanks mods, for combining the threads and making me look foolish. :)

Chris L 09 October 2006 11:55 PM

Well in fairness, there were 3 threads in different places, so I've merged them.

speedymonkey 10 October 2006 12:27 AM

:( :( :(
I thought he was getting better too, he looked rather pale and run down last year but still played but i thought this was after treatment he had recieved and respected him so much for playing when he obviously was battling through such a barrier.
I thought he was on the up and didnt believe the post! what sad news and at such a young age too :(
Thoughts are with his family

christ, didn't even know he had cancer, RIP.

stilover 10 October 2006 10:39 AM

Very sad. He was a very good player. Nice to watch.

Best story I heard about him, was years ago. He was losing a match (think it was a final. Could be wrong though) and was several frames down when It came to the 15mins tea brake. He retired to his dressing room to find his wife/girlfriend waiting for him. To cheer him up and lift his spirits, she shagged him there and then.
Returning to the table, and feeling a lot better after his tea brake shag. He then made a dramatic fightback, winning the match. :thumb:

Good player. Will miss watching him play :(

RichWalk 10 October 2006 10:46 AM

Gave himself slippy fingers for smooth cueing action? :D

jasonius 10 October 2006 12:05 PM

Very sad loss at such a young age as always.

One thing I will say however, he smoked like a trooper..! I'll always remember him being on Superstars a few years back, think he only scored one point, but he was a great laugh and well liked by the other sportsmen.

Gotta feel sorry for his wife and young baby..:(
