After Children In Need yesterday, you now also have the chance to help someone with links to the Scooby community.
Paige is two and a half and suffers from Schizencephaly which is an extremely rare form of Cerebral Palsy.
Only just over 400 people worldwide are affected by Schizencephaly so there is no recognised Charity which means that she cannot get help from even Children In Need.
At present she is unable to speak, walk or even crawl, however she is a delightful intelligent child who has the ability to light up a room with her smile.
Her disability will continue to affect her throughout her life so she needs specialised equipment not provided by the Health or Social services (Although they do a marvellous job with limited resources).
Items required now or in the future include a powered wheelchair (to possibly attend her local school),adapted toys, housing adaptations and assessments at specialised centres.
We contacted Every Subaru dealer and as many Motor related people as possible in September with a view to hosting this auction here on Scoobynet (Thanks Simon), so here is what we have so far:

Aubolutely, we're in business already!

STEVECHAPS 21 November 2001 07:57 AM

Ok, last day today (had to be fairly short due to so much going on)
so if you want something get bidding.
From 8.00am to 4.45pm I'll be on stevec@slingsby.com
then 4.45pm to midnight it'll be scoobychaps@aol.com
This helps me to respond to bids & questions quicker.
Again - THANKS for all those who have contacted me or bid.
Cheers
Steve

Neil Smalley 21 November 2001 10:46 PM

Steve

Is it worth extending the auction by a day or two because of the bbs problems we've been having?

STEVECHAPS 21 November 2001 11:00 PM

Neil, good shout but to be honest I'm delighted with the way it has gone and won't everyone be in Wales anyway!
Because people have bid expecting to win by midnight tonight it's only fair to keep it that way.
Steve

AndrewW 21 November 2001 11:03 PM
