So your NiMH batteries, with a maximum standby time of up to 40 hours (in the mr30) - lets call that two days! So that's 180 charge cycles a year, with a typical 500 cycle life - er, three years each!

But you said that every battery is 10 years old?

Strange????

Yes, they are 10 years old ... they haven't always been charged up when they were flat ... the phone is plugged into the cigarette lighter socket whilst in the car.

Don't see what the problem is with a 10 year old battery?

I had a battery in my calculator from 1978 and it went and stopped working last autumn ..... bloody cheek!! Just 27years out of it!

Should have read the title, this is certainly not in any use.

Ive got a 'Mars Bar' too ( -1993- 24hrs battery life), Ive also got my first phone: a Motorola 8800 (-1990- 12 hours if you dont use the f*cker)... The oldest working phone I have is a Motorola International 3200 (-1994-). Its a GSM phone similar to the 8800 and other bricks and its ability to hold onto a signal is unmatched.....

What???

On a contract that doesn't exist, using batteries that won't work?

Howz about posting a picture of your phone (maybe with a copy of your monthly statement), with a live Orange operator logo, and no external power???

Or are you just a bandwidth waster?

You're not very quick on the uptake, are you? :D

I can do that ... but, why would I be arsed to??

You either take it on face value or you act like the prick you are!

1. I HAVE the said phone on its own power

2. I have it on a monthly contract from ORANGE, based on the Virgin Contract

3. I only pay for calls made!

I simply don't see whats odd about that - there must be 1000's of people out there with the very SAME!!

OR loosely translated as ... "Why put myself out to prove something to someone when I gain nothing by it?"

You have proved yourself VERY stupid on the other thread - please don't do it here too!!

Eh?

A bit of light-heated humour makes me "VERY stupid"? As stupid as yourself sir?

I'm not the one making false claims that I have no intention, nor ability of backing up ;)

...but as i pointed out earlier, your alleged Virgin Contract could not have existed when you said that you moved to it, because Virgin Mobile didn't start until at least three years later!.

You must have been holding your phone too close to your head and fried your brains

DARKDESTROYER9 08 October 2006 11:34 PM

Gymbal 09 October 2006 10:37 AM

PSl, is your employer (and collegues) happy with you lugging a radiation sources around in a rucksack?

Does GCHQ ask you to stop shouting (if) whenever you get rung?
Dou you know the EM emissions of your antique (phone)?
;)

Dieseldog 09 October 2006 10:44 AM

< decides to join in... >

Yeah? so in exactly what discipline of kickboxing are you the world champion, then, PSL? Answer us!

Paul3446 09 October 2006 10:50 AM

PSL once again makes himself look stupid, then covers it up by accusing everyone else of making themselves look stupid.

If you have the proof post it up, if you don't shut up. :lol1:

STi wanna Subaru 09 October 2006 10:54 AM

Why would anybody be happy about still using a really old phone?

Paul3446 09 October 2006 11:18 AM

Perhaps they're trying to develop a brain tumour? :wonder:

That's the only reason I can think of.

pslewis 09 October 2006 12:53 PM

Right ...... hands up who will admit on here that they are pricks when I post up the phone picture, on, with only battery power with the Orange Logo showing??

I want a list of names who will admit here and now that they are sad dickhead losers when I post up the proof! And will always be known as such on SN forever!

Come on then, dicks, lets see what you are made of!

Pete

I think you're on the wrong forum if you want to see some tallywhackers...

pslewis 09 October 2006 01:03 PM

I'll start the list then ..

The following names admit that they are complete and utter tossers if pslewis provides images which show a the above named mobile phone with an Orange Logo on powered by its own battery ..

Place names here:-

STi wanna Subaru 09 October 2006 01:05 PM

You may need to provide proof of the date as the pic could be several years old... maybe stand holding said phone with todays paper? Or better still a loaf of bread on your head with a best before date in advance of todays date.

pslewis 09 October 2006 01:07 PM

Fair enough .. it will be a digital image with a date stamp anyway

Pete

Paul3446 09 October 2006 01:49 PM

Still stalling, so you don't have the proof then? :lol1:

I'll admit to being a tosser if you post a pic of yourself with said phone and today's paper.

I think it's a fairly safe bet that you won't. It has to be today as well. There's no reason you can't presumably?
