Hi there,

A friend of mine just got his 17" 'Mak Sprirt Racing White' on his new shape Nissan Almera.

The car runs on 15" wheels in standard form.
The tyres are Falken but I do not know what model.
He told me when he does 140 - 150 km/h, the steering wheel starts to shake quite noticeable.
Is this due to the wheels being too large, or just the small weights (?) on the wheels being slightly misplaced.

Thanks if anybody could help, no typical Scoobynet answers like "take 'em off and put back the standard ones" please.

Not sure what you mean by a typical Scoobynet answer, people will try and help if they can.
Good balancing is common to all wheel set-ups and would probably be the first thing to check, if the wheels are second hand could the they be damaged ?

Sounds like the balance is out to me, could be a damaged/bent wheel also,, get the wheels re-balanced as a first step, get the company to check the wheekls for damaged/out of true whilst they are off the carPaul

I agree, check the wheels are balanced correctly. It is easy for the self adhesive weights to fall of therefore throwing the wheels out of balance. One thing did spring to mind, do you know whether he was supplied spigot rings? they are the small plastic or metal rings which sit inside the back of the wheel, to ensure the wheel fits onto the hub correctly. If these are not used the wheel can move around slightly during driving.
