Problems with 'Mudban' Flaps

Hi All

I got some Mudban (aka Scott Lowe) flaps off ebay a few months back but have a few problems with them. Firstly the fronts rub the tyres when the steering is turned close to lock - this makes a horrible noise and I can't simply bend the reinforncing brackets to hold the flap back away from the tyre as the brackets are plastic  Anyone has similar problems and found a solution? I did email the seller and he promised to send me some aluminium brackets but never did so and now ignores my emails

Also my rear flaps hang much too low as the mounting points are in the wrong place for my bumper (see pic). My car is a MY95 GL wagon (no sideskirts) but I don't see why Subaru would make the bumper different. The car had OE Subaru flaps on before - wish I'd never removed them to be honest but they were getting tatty. I'll have to redrill the holes to get them to sit properly. Not very impressed with this supposed custom-made bolt-on product and not very impressed with Mudban/Scott Lowe's service :(

Looks like you are an unlucky customer :(

I was going to get some of these flaps, but after you are not the second person that has had problems with them.

Surely mudban items are NOT EXACTLY the same as Scott Lowe, surely not.

No, the full price Scott Lowe flaps have aluminium brackets which would solve one of my problems... I agree the flaps themselves are great quality materials - they just don't fit correctly!

(I'm Jamp on ImprezaSport btw in case you're thinking of me twice mate! Oughta see if they'll change my username on here really cos I don't like it!)

Mud-ban and Scott Lowe mudflaps are two entirely different products, totally different materials and aimed at different ends of the market. Distributed by the same company though.
Scoobyster, it appears you have fitted the rear mudflaps in the wrong place.
You were sent some replacement brackets as promised and I thought that was the end of the matter, I am sorry if you havent received them. Please email again and the matter will be resolved. I still also uphold the offer of fitting them properly for you if you make the small journey to our premises.

Thanks for the replies.

megabusa - Thanks for sending the brackets but they did not arrive! I did email you a couple of times to enquire where they had got to but received no reply, hence resorting to coming on here.

They are fitted by the lower holes so are as high as the flaps will go (without re-drilling) but as I said the GL bumper might have different mounting points to the majority of Imprezas with side skirts.

I will try to take up the offer of having them sorted out when I can get the time off. Up to my eyes in uni work and not always in Sheffield at the moment.

OK, just let me know when you want to come and I will help.

Many thanks to Megabusa for adapting my flaps to fit yesterday. Problems were down to my side-skirt-less car being awkward it would seem. They're now perfect and it was nice to meet you. Cheers.
