OIL LEAK
had all the cam cover seals replaced last week bet theres still oil dripping on to the manifold, ive checked the oil return for the turbo and thats dry so could there still be a problem with the cam seals?

Leak from turbo oil feed pipe?
I've just had a similar leak - it turned out to be a cam cover bolt head had cross threaded and wasn't clamping the cover down hard enough. Nick |
checked all turbo feed and return pipes and they are dry checked all bolts and they are as tight as i can get them, i was told it could be a cam seal but i had the cam belt done when i had the cam cover seals done and thought the garage might of spotted it if the cam seal had failed or fallen out!

cam cover seals not seated properly or cheap non genuine seals fitted in which case are crap and never seal
|
they are genuine subaru ones and cost a mint really for what they are, just pissed off now as i cant enjoy the car to its fullest as the oil stinks and i cant be arsed to keep topping it up may just book it into a proper scoob specalist
and get them to sort it. |
Leave car on level overnight and wipe clean the bottom underside edge of drivers side cam cover. In morning run your finger along that edge.
If you find fresh oil then that'll prove if cover is leaking. The cam seals don't have to fall out to leak. If they do then the oil loss is rapid and the car smokes a lot. Nick |
sorted it was cam cover bolt gasket replaced that and its fine cheers for all the replys:notworthy
