HELP WITH RANDY FISH!

Is it the weather or what?
I have two medium sized ponds in my garden one with adult fish the other with about thirty fry in it ( i think that's the term for baby fish) and they're at it again, removed loads of eggs just last week too. Do i just leave them to get on with it, or if i try to seperate the females and put them in the other pond will they eat the babies. They are now about 1.05 inch long. Any fish experts on this forum.

Anybody want any fish, free to good home :) they're worse than bleeding mice.

If they're an inch long that must be the result of the spring "festival" :)

Yep I would think adults will eat them unlerss they can find a suitable hiding place like behind a shelf plant. We just let nature take it course as we don't want any more fish in our pond although there are always a few survivors.

How are you going to sex the adults anyway unless you can identify them when the boys are chasing the gals? dl

It's always the same fish that seems to be getting chased by 3 other fish. I've tried to catch her in the net but she's way to fast. This happened in the spring too, only the female ended up half dead by the time they'd finished with her:( hubby then had to put her out of her misery.

cheers mrs c

Yep the males don't take any prisoners when they have the urge!! We've had females jump out of the pond to try and get away

Can you catch her at feeding time?

Already tried that she just hides at the bottom under the plants, then when i disturb the bottom the water goes all murky and i have to wait another half hour for it to settle again. I don't think they'll get the chance to harm her she's twice the size of the other three, i just feel sorry for her poor thing must be exausted :(
