SOME AMUSING VIDEO FOOTAGE FROM KNOCKHILL!!!

See attached video: Once 'Team Gimp' have finished 'showing' their car, footage of Knockhill Hot Hatch day from last weekend begins. I am in front at the begining in my 205 GTI (having just passed them on the straight.)

Enjoy - I know I did!!!

andythejock01wrx 22 September 2006 10:09 PM

Yeah, does put you off track days, doesn't it !!

Ahhh - brings back the memories ~ I used to be a fire marshal at Knockhill, although I seem to recall most folk drove on the tarmac rather than the gravel !!

COLZO 22 September 2006 10:14 PM

I`ve been to SIDC and Top Marques track days at KH and enjoyed them very much. I would never take my Scooby on at the Hot Hatch days, they are just not safe with twats like that on the track.

andythejock01wrx 22 September 2006 10:15 PM

Are SIDC trackdays ok Colzo ? Do folk race ? Is your car likely to be rammed ?!

COLZO 22 September 2006 10:56 PM

They are very strick with the track etiquette. Never saw anything major. IMO you feel safer going out on track with people who have spent the same kind of money on their cars, there seems to be a certain respect. Depending on numbers it could be an open track or timed sessions so never over crowded.

How much does it cost mate ?

That square steering wheels just the job !!!!

andythejock01wrx 22 September 2006 11:11 PM

OK, but that doesn't include the replace tyres and brakes !

COLZO 22 September 2006 11:12 PM

There is a track day at KH on 7th Oct. SIDC Members £80 non-members £87 It runs from 9am - 1pm. If your not a member book on the SIDC website or be up there an hour before the start. Its free to spectate though. Would possibly wait to see the weather forecast before booking! Unfortunately I`ll be in Orlando! :luxhello:

andythejock01wrx 22 September 2006 11:18 PM

Cheers !

:thumb: Great footage :luxhello: , looked to me as if the mx3 got out of shape team gimp just passed him on the out side and the mx3 went it to them :luxhello: :luxhello:

Ste_TYPE-R 23 September 2006 09:49 AM

"Team Gimp" ?

More like "Team ****ing 11 year old pricks in a £50 ****box"

Ive never taken my car to a track day, its something i keep meaning to do but after watching that video i think ive been scarred for life. Do cars need to have track insurance to be able to go caining it round the circuit? If not theres no way id take my car onto the track vs some twats in sheds who cudnt give 2 ****s if he stacks into you!

PRICKS

SCD Simon 23 September 2006 10:20 AM

PMSL when they got a tap from the red 205 and called him a w@nker :D
They can dish it out but don't like the same treatment LOL

Neil XR 23 September 2006 10:24 AM

if i had my way, i would not let them push a pram let alone drive any car

Jamo 23 September 2006 10:30 AM

thats an ace video, looked like the mazda rammed them to me :)

either way there having a good time, so **** it.

Martin-STI 23 September 2006 10:48 AM

This is the reason you go on an organized reputable company track day. www.motorsportvision.co.uk
I have done Oulton Park and never saw anything like that. :thumb:

This is the problem with some companies. You pay £50 for the day you get £50 cars going around and it turns into a Demolition Derby. :iamwithst

You want like mentioned above a SIDC day or a proper track company. :luxhello:
That way you enjoy the day and get to drive it home (99% of time)

Buckrogers 23 September 2006 11:57 AM

The wacky races!

Another one from Team Gimp:

They were having fun, wern't risking £30K Car and the one driver had some car control even if not Brain control :D IMHO

furrydice79 23 September 2006 12:28 PM

hehe, quality, i dont take my car on the track as i need it for work everyday, but im all for buying an old GTE and doing some of this!

theboy 23 September 2006 12:54 PM

Makes a change that they are on a track, thought they normally drive cars like that on streets after they have just robbed them. I have done trackdays on motorbikes but no one wants to fall off so its quite sensible. Not some prick in a £50 car pranging your pride and joy.
