How do you read ABS fault codes?

I have an ABS fault. Is there any other way this can be read other than a visit to the dealer.

Thanks

Craig

you have to put a wire in to a certain hole in a plug even the dealer has to do it it this way and count the flashes. can't remember the plug no. but it's all under the drivers dash including the wire you have to insert.
