Alarm problems on a mk2 mondeo

Got intermittant alarm probs on my mk2 mondeo-i'll go a journey and park car and sometimes after being parked for 10 minutes the alarm will go off for no reason-i will then turn alarm off and wait a while-re-arm it and its fine-have read on a mondeo forum that quite often the bonnet pin switch plays up, so i disconnected that and tested that with a multimeter and it tested fine- but still alarm is playing up occasionally-any idea's?

The only way around it is to lock the car manually (yours a 97 onwards with the plip remote?)
That should overcome the problem but you wont have the alarm active (but the immobiliser will be).

been thinking about it last nite-and it only happens when the passenger door has been opened-so im thinking must be a dodgy connnection on that door.

Could be a door seal?
These are volumatic aint they? (should really read my mondeo manual ;))

Tap your bonnet pin switch 10 or so times to enter diagnostic/test mode (once you've reconnected it :p ). The horn will briefly sound when it goes into diagnostic mode and every time you trigger a sensor. So you can check each door/boot etc.

After 30seconds of inactivty it will exit diagnostic mode giving a double beep on the horn :)

been out in car today with a passenger-drove for 15 mins parked up-no false alarm-then drove another 4 miles and alarm goes of for no reason-i then got passenger to only use back door then-drove for another 15 mins and still alarm then gives false alarm-did this twice then-then it worked ok again-so about an hour later i did the alarm test and checked every door etc and bonnet and everything shows up as ok-could it be the heat getting to the bonnet pin switch?

As far as i can tell my car hasn't got interior sensors so air moving inside car shouldn't set alarm off

There a link to an article problem solving Modeo alarm issues on the modneo forum. Amongst other thinks they recommend bypassing the bonnet switch with wire to test it, as it's often the first to go.
