Very quick in a straght line, sound lovely. Drink lots, eat lots of tyres. Stats as above. Go on forever if looked after.

Hmmm... well this one was not that quick really... :Suspiciou

A friend had one a while back, very strong engines very rare to get a low mileage decent example.

Was chucking a lot of cr@p out of the exhaust when he was giving it some, so possibly not the best example.

Although I have got a bit more power, also going through 2 wheels and with a bit less weight, so I'd expect mine to be quicker, but not by the amount that it was.

There were some AWD R models, but mainly 2WD.

The 850R, T5 and T5-R were FWD. There is an 850 AWD turbo, but it is more of a soft roader than performance car. In the 70 series cars you indeed can get an AWD R model with the same 2.3 engine, but with a Mitsubishi 19T turbo i think? Then of course the latest is the 2.5R in the S60 and V70R 300hp and AWD. :)

As I thought...

I had a 850 T5. £1800, m plate, 78K miles, saloon. auto. I loved it. It was fast, comfortable, all the toys, wasnt too bad on fuel. Bloody thing got nicked so obviously someone else agreed :-)

Would I have another one ? yes. Becareful what you buy though, some thrashed ones out there. Try :- http://www.volvot5.co.uk/ Saloons are cheaper than estates.

Dont worry about the flat cap, slippers remarks, the car really is an all round good performer, why do you think all the police forces used to have them ?

Doesn't just weigh the same as a challenger tank, they were styled by the same designer! :lol1:
