Going out for the weekend

I want to go out for the weekend and do something different, not cinema or bowling etc, I shall be wanting to take a special lady friend out with me too so any suggestions would be great please, I dont think Paintballing etc is her thing either before we get any of them ideas ;) If it helps im in Lincolnshire. Money isnt really an object, within reason though, still got bills to pay at the end of the month...lol

Feel like a tit asking for ideas, should be creative enough myself but been thinking for the last hour and cant think of anything to do.

stilover 22 September 2006 10:57 AM

Visit a Whore House, and have a 3 some.:norty:

Bet no one else has done this on a date for her !!

The Chief 22 September 2006 11:02 AM

Does she like museums or buildings what about a cathedral i've heard there is a big un in Lincoln - and maybe a museum afterwards

***are you prepared to tarvel far***

OllyK 22 September 2006 11:09 AM

I've got about 30 tonne of hardcore I need shoveling, I'd be happy to let you do this and share the unique experience with your date, I won't even charge you (much) for the privilege!

STi wanna Subaru 22 September 2006 11:09 AM

Book horse riding lessons for you both then a nice meal somewhere.. maybe a country pub style restaurant.. and also book a hotel room. Start the day with a ride and finish it with one :D

davegtt 22 September 2006 11:11 AM

Im prepared to travel far for the right suggestion shall we say, if need be I can get someone to come and look after my Dog if I need to stay the night anywhere :) Dont think shes keen on buildings, Ive always liked old castle ruins etc and wanted to visit Warick but she never showed an interest in that, infact nose turned up was more of a reaction ;)

stilover, no thanks. no wonder you love STIs so much if you visit whore houses ;)

Olly, thanks for that, dont really fancy working up to much of a sweat ;)

STiWS, decent suggestion, thanks. Not really a horse lover though, in fact quite hate the fact that I might get on a horse. Got me thinking on that sort of lines though

STi wanna Subaru 22 September 2006 11:12 AM

Take her to the United game ;)

Liar! You just don't want to do it the way I suggested :D ;)

OllyK 22 September 2006 11:15 AM

Weather looks OK for tomorrow, take a picnic, get down to Cambridge and take her out on the river. If she's special spend the time talking rather than looking for activities to just fill time!

Good idea or combine it with maybe a Polo Match - might get her in the mood - unless she buggers off with one of the players

davegtt 22 September 2006 11:19 AM

Thats below the belt STIWS ;) you KNOW that'd never happen, oh and she follows liverpool albeit not closely.

Olly, not a bad suggestion, thanks. Never been to Cambridge, is it a nice place? Am I going to look a tit having a picnic by the river? I wet through round here at the minute so it'd have stay dry all day and night for that one to work.

davegtt 22 September 2006 11:20 AM

How does cycling sound? Cycle round Rutland water and stop off at a cafe half way around for some lunch and maybe stay in a nice little village somewhere nearby? Sounds like a good plan :)

RMA26 22 September 2006 11:24 AM

Drive to the Dales?

Visit York?

Get very drunk?

Go clay Pidgeon shooting?

Rent Quad bikes (in the dales)

Absailing or rock climbing?

???

Cambridge is historic, lots of old buildings and colleges etc. Getting round by car is a bit of a nightmare, so aim to park just off the A14 by the science park and park and ride in.

Depending on the weather, picnics by the river are not uncommon, it's just getting a little late in the year perhaps.

Dales - Both been and done that as kids with school and found it a little boring ;)

York, now Id like to go back again and visit this place, could even give her some time to spend a couple of hours shopping but not sure if its right for what I want this weekend.

Get very drunk, hmm, going to be hard since Ive given up lager for good, and no that doesnt mean just drink a few bottles of wine instead ;)

Pidgeon shooting, I do that at work in my spare time, clays will be boring ;) :lol1:

Absailing or rock climbing would be awsome but doubt its her type of activity although she liked doing the rapids in the Alps a fair few years back, not sure if there is owt like that in the area here though.

DCI Gene Hunt 22 September 2006 11:36 AM

Dirty weekend in the White Heart at Lincoln? :)

It's uphill, next to the Cathedral (where they filmed scenes for the Diviiniigcii <sp> Code) over the way from the Castle and surrounded by pubs & nice eateries........... :thumb:

What about the theatre? West End or local?

http://www.royalcentre-nottingham.co.uk/

Or taking her to a comedy club?

Ice skating:) failing that bring her round mine and we will roast her:D

King RA 22 September 2006 12:35 PM

West end theatre in the evening, then take her up the oxo tower for the remainder of the night, it's very romantic; there's a good review somewhere.

davegtt 22 September 2006 01:02 PM

Not going to be too late to get booked in anywhere like this then?

Sport160 22 September 2006 01:18 PM
