can anybody tell me the best place to get a 2.5L short motor and roughly for how much cheers

You might well be cheapest getting from US, what with the exchange rate as it is, even with shipping. Thats where most of the uk suppliers get theirs anyway. Do a search on ebay, theres at least 2 suppliers seem to be reputable enough and will quote crated shipping to UK.
