:D you made the right choice mate :thumb:

Tripple'O G 18 September 2006 04:12 PM

Thanks fella.....but now i'm having a nightmare because i've been told the TDO520G will be running at it's max of 400-450bhp and that I should be aiming for a GT30 where I can run less boost with the same output.
Then I worry about lag on the GT30 and don't know what to do!!

what would you do alloy?
(plus you do realise i'll be infront, for once.....)
(untill I pull the gear lever clean out the socket again......:lol1: )

V4JDMSTi 18 September 2006 04:28 PM

custom twin turbos so that you can have a smaller one to eliminate lag then the larger one for the peak power ;)

Tripple'O G 18 September 2006 04:30 PM

er......well i'm trying to convince my old man of that at present so I can't followin the same set up!!
I said i'd sell him my VF34 for his second.....:lol1:

V4JDMSTi 18 September 2006 04:34 PM

:lol1:

could go anti lag but then you have the legal problems with running it on the road and you'll need your engine rebuilt every week. :lol1:

i guess really it'll come down to what you're using the car for? if the bigger turbo will be safer for the engine but give you more lag then it's got to be the way to go imo. even if it does mean that the run to the shops is going to take longer because of the amount of lag you'll get ;) but you'll have the scope for producing even more power in the future.

V4JDMSTi 18 September 2006 04:36 PM

have you got fmic or tmic?

if fmic you may loose some lag by spining the inlet around?

Tripple'O G 18 September 2006 04:39 PM

Thats the thing though...the next step after this, e.g going to break the 500 mark, will mean the car will completely loose reliability....so i'd rather have torque, and decent power that won't break everything within the first 5 mins instead of going that extra mile, having lag and spending another 10k....

It's kinda saying I won't do anything after this mod....which probably won't happen but hey, I think a 400bhp/430lbft WRX will be pretty special and when's a 500+ car going to be much use??

Tripple'O G 18 September 2006 04:40 PM

i've got a tmic but am changing it for a fmic.....

i'll pm you the details....

V4JDMSTi 18 September 2006 04:46 PM

tis true, if you can have 400bhp reliably or 500bhp and it might be unreliable then 400bhp it would be for me. got to think of the drivetrain as well. that's a long way over standard and will only take so many blasts of 500bhp before it leaves it's contents over the road. :( unles you go to straight cut dog box and uprated diffs :norty:

don't know if you'd be interested but there was a spun inlet manifold in the classified section i noticed the other day for £200.
