I was there all weekend and left at 3.30 on the sunday, must have happened after then.

yes it was later in the day during the finals (how could you leave just before the finals!)

Its mostly speculation but from what I understand, something came off of the car or track a hit a spectator who then had a heart attack from the shock.

A real shame

I left because the winner was already decided and id been there since thursday and wanted to avoid the MASSIVE crowds, man it was sooooo busy.

Mind you i missed urs erbachers 3rd 4.7 of the weekend and a new terminal speed record.

Was it during the top fuel final this happened?

This is a real shame for this guys family and for the sport in general, i have a feeling health & saftey are going to have a field day.

Yeah i agree, it was the race before the top fuel final because we ended up sitting there for 45 mins or so while the paramedics dealt with the man.

He went to hospital but died later there.
