I got my GF preggers she thinks

Had unprotected sex with her wednesday, (shes on the pill) but on thursday she was under full anaesthetic and the pill is only ment to be 50% effective then, and now shes worried she might be pregnant

What are my chances that she isnt? Also what precautions do I take now? Do i get her a morning after pill or something?

would the pregnancy test show after only 2 days?

mw2655 09 September 2006 02:20 PM

the "morning after pill" is effective up to 72hrs after unprotected sex.

you can get it from A+E or a chemist.

as it was thurs night, you'd better hurry up ;)

otherwise a coil can be inserted within 5 days.

as it was the day after it's unlikely she's pregnant, pregnancy test won't work this early.

cheers matt

I wouldn't advise you do this yourself though ;)

Valid Q, I don't know, looks like your off to the chemist one way or another, ask there, as mw2655 say you can get the morning after pill there over the counter, I don't know if there are restrictions as to whether you or the g/f has to buy it though.

Can u imagine the scenario, women desparate to get preggers and her hubby isn't too keen but doesn't want to say so, so he slips a ground up morning after pill in her corn flakes !!!

Scary

The pill would have been fully effective when you had the unprotected sex (assuming proper useage), the problem is that the little blighters can live for some time once inside the female and is effectivenss in preventing these from doing there thing may have been diminished. My advice would be to get down the family planning clinic with the GF and ask about the morning after pill as a precaution.

Advice for the future, follow the advice of Ricky Gervais:

Remember lads, a fish suppers nice covered in Daddies sauce, but either keep the safety catch on, or aim high! :norty: ;) :D

Best of luck.

Modern pregnancy tests will work within three or four days.

Chances of being pregnant a slim but possible. Then she won't be slim at all! ;)

I'd go along with that, also when was she last on her period that could have a lot to do with it as well. A week before and a week after period are the most fertile period, I think:wonder: I'll have to ask my gf, she's always going on about these things.

davyboy 09 September 2006 04:02 PM

Quite a funny thread really.......and shows that there's a lot to learn for some of you :D:D

Is that not more likely to cause it than prevent it?? ;)

AudiLover 09 September 2006 04:46 PM

I got her the pill. £25 from boots :luxhello:

She went on her "break" thrusday so stopped taking the pill from then. The woman at boots told her to carry on with the pill tonight though. Her peroids due in about two days but I quess now that shes gonna be taking the pill again tonight she wont get it. Probably get her to take a pregnancy test in 4 days or so just to be 100% sure. :D

DCI Gene Hunt 09 September 2006 05:00 PM

That was feckin close...... are you sure she's on the pill? she may be trying to trap you.... :Suspiciou

Hang on a minute.... what troggite in their right mind would want to trap 'AudiLover'..... :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

And you have just failed the 'stay's calm in a crisis' test.... :D

Its only because shes not the one for me. Ping Pong is and I will gladly knock her up. ;)

When I was 16 a girl tried to trap me though, she wanted my babies, but luckily her mates told me before she stole my innocence :o

Woman love me like I love audi :notworthy

scoob_babe 09 September 2006 05:12 PM

4 days before the period is an unlikely chance to get pregnant however it can happen. The most fertile time is around 9 days after the first day of period. Most new pregnancy tests need a sample first thing in the morning if she's worried before hand as the hormones are most evident first thing.

sarasquares 09 September 2006 05:20 PM

GENERAL ANAESTHETIC DOES NOT AFFECT THE EFFECTIVENESS OFF THE PILL

:thumb:

AudiLover 09 September 2006 05:23 PM

yeah just found out she had to take antibiotics though on the day because shes allergic to penicillin or somethin

Dont trust woman anymore lol

NotoriousREV 09 September 2006 05:26 PM

Typical feckless youth. "It wasn't my fault". Suck it up boy, if you squirt and she ends up pregnant it's entirely your own fault.

HTH.

scoob_babe 09 September 2006 05:28 PM

Depends on the antibiotics on effectiveness but doctor should have advised her when checking her notes. I've never had to take any so I've never had to find out the hard way ;)

Miss Kinky 09 September 2006 05:30 PM

several things spring to mind here...

unprotected sex.... but she's on the pill....

pregnancy tests usually only work when your period is late... i think modern tests can be done the day before your period is due...

Audilover - if i was as paranoid as you about pregnancy i wouldn't be having sex...

your poor girlfriend... she's had to undergo a general anaesthetic, and whatever it was for... her period is due AND you'vemade her take the morning after pill... if i was her i'd never have sex with you again!!
