Would STi Brembo's fit my WRX
Been offered a full set of STI Brembos (brand new, front and rear), would they be a direct swap for the brakes on my 53 plate Blob eye?

The fronts would go straight on with the STo 326mm Disks. If you have 2 pot calipers on the rear the rear caliper should fit (may need slight modification, but not alot).
I know Dyney has managed to modify his WRX 2-pot bracket to fit the Brembo. Your biggest problem is that the new caliper will be offset to fit the 316mm STi disk. The problem with the 316mm disk is that it uses a 190mm drum for the hanbrake. And the WRX uses a 170mm drum. You would need to either : 1. Sleeve the STi rear disk down to a 170mm drum. 2. Make the bracket fit a 290mm WRX disk with a 170mm drum 3. Get someone like godspped to make you a rear disk to suite i.e 316mm diameter and 170mm drum. The other option is to also get the rear driveshafts and hubs from the STi. Might need the diff aswell, not sure on this....... |
Hmm sounds like more hassle (and £££'s) than it's worth.
The deal was with the pads and discs as well. He won't split the pack otherwise I'd have just had the fronts. |
I have a set of front brembo's, used. Can supply NEW pads and discs to go with them. Make me an sensible offer......

But the WRX wheels won't fit over the STi Brembo calipers so you'll need the wheels as well.

i have just done this upgrade myself and what a difference they make :notworthy . the front calipers bolt straigh on as long as you have the brembo mounting bolts because the standard wrx caliper bolts are a different thread. for the front disks assuming they are off an 06 sti they would need to be re drilled to a pcd of 5 x 100. for the rear calipers they bolt straight on as long as you have the correct bolts. as for the rear disks i just got a steel sleeve machined and pressed in and had them re drilled. for the money its a great upgrade. :D
