Gearbox number's and diff number's

Hi all just need some help on where to find the box number and diff number . and what the number means. I've been told the box is a sti v4 box . now i'm guessing the diff in that is a 4.4 and the rear diff is original wrx version 1 at 4.1 what would that do ? is it wise to put a 4.4 in asap?:wonder:

Absolute rule:

Transmission diff ratio must be the same as the rear diff BUT,BUT remember the drop gear ratio!

If you can, it the trans and the diff off the same car or it will shread the centre diff.

You need the part no. off the gearbox, and search on here for ( I think it was AndrewC ) the list of what gears / difs are fitted to what gearbox ref numbers.

OH! the box has been in the car for about year to 18 months do remember when first fitted a vibration all of a sudden when driving but after a while it disappeared. Think i better go down to jap performance parts and have a word with sajid . how had is it to fit a st1 5o r 6 type r box and diff to a 93wrx . with centre variable centre diff?

Easy until you mentioned the dccd...that is hard unless you spend a further £300 for the dccd controller.
