N64 problem

I got my N64 off eBay at the weekend. I can get the console to turn on, but I can't get it to come up on the tv. It came with the lead with red, yellow and white. I've plugged it in to both the tv and the dvd/video combo and it won't show up on AV1,2 or 3. I've also tried it using a tv upstairs by plugging the the leads in to a scart adaptor and still nothing. My PS2 and XBox both work fine using either method.

I've been told that N64's need to be tuned in to the tv for them to work. I've done an automatic tune and my tv picks up channels 1-5 but still no N64.

The console came with no instructions so I have nothing to refer to. I've e mailed the seller who said it was fine when they posted and they're now away and said to contact them again when they get back if I'm still having problems.

Can anyone offer any help?

If you use the scart adapter from your ps2 and plug your N64, red, white and yellow plugs into that, should work on your AV channel.

If you have the oldskool TV aerial pin(single pin Male) Plug it into the aerial in on your TV and tune it in, failing that nip down to gamestation and get a 2nd hand lead for it!

Yeah, using the scart and AV channel doesn't bring anything up.

if i recall sometimes you need a cart in the 64 for it to display anything. sometimes just removing the card and blowing in the card slot on the card and the 64, can remove dust which sometimes causes no piccy. also try pressing reset severla times when turned on, aond turning the unit off and on from the mains a few times sometimes helps

mart

ps how much did you pay btw
