hi can anyone help me,when i acelerate my car there is a screeching noise,it does it when car is parked up also,its an my96 sti wagon:brickwall

hi thanks for the reply,i dont know if its the cam belt,its when i rev it hard you hear the noise,like a metal screeching noise,would that be an indication that i need new belts?

if its the screeching i think you mean yeah need one asap if it breaks you cn kiss your engine bye bye. get it checked out asap and if it is that changed asap

It will be your FAN belt not Cambelt that is making the noise. If it had been your cambelt you engine would have been toast the first time it did it.Try adjusting your Fan/Powersteering belts if badly worn replace them..
