unwanted baby (not mine!!)

someone i know has got pregnant without the boyfriends knowledge(behind his back, on purpose) and wants to keep the baby. the girl is prepared to see a solicitor and make a statement saying that she got herself pregnant on purpose knowing that the B/F didnt want any children. she is willing to say that she accepts full responsibility for the baby and will not make any financial demands on the would be father during the childs childhood.

will this prevent any agencies saying he is responsible for the childs upkeep during its dependent years?

only sensible replies please:thumb:

jasey 24 August 2006 10:45 AM

Doubt it.

Besides it's a bit more complex than just the money :).

Daft Lad 24 August 2006 10:45 AM

Is it the boyfriend's baby? :wonder:

lightning101 24 August 2006 10:46 AM

I would imagine its like a last will and testament. It's what you would like to happen but you can't change the law by will.

jasey 24 August 2006 10:47 AM

btw "unwanted baby (not mine!!) " Are you in denial ;)

davegtt 24 August 2006 10:48 AM

He didnt want kids but was happy to shoot his ammo at the enemy?

ChefDude 24 August 2006 10:51 AM

she could've said she was on the pill

the csa will still take his money if she's on benefits. no choice there.

Do you live in Albert Square?

Anyway - to be clear when she went behind his back - with someone else?

Is he the genetic father?

Why does she need to see a solicitor?

If she wants to have the kid and can support it herself then there shouldn't be a problem. If she tries to claim benefits either from him or the state in future then the CSA will probably get stuck in

sarasquares 24 August 2006 10:53 AM

definately not mine. she got herself pregnant cos the relationship was nearly over and has admitted that she thought she would be able to win him back with a supprise baby. he has always said he didnt ever want children and she was on the pill, but she stopped taking it without asking him first and got pregnant. she now knows that she has got no chance of having a relationship with him and wants to do the right thing. she wont have an abortion, she wants the baby.
surely if you are tricked into something and it can be proved a statement or something would work:wonder:

jasey 24 August 2006 10:54 AM

Nope. He poked - he pays :).

fast bloke 24 August 2006 10:57 AM

So will she be financially self sufficient?

STi wanna Subaru 24 August 2006 10:57 AM

she's a mentalist! poor kid

RLE 24 August 2006 10:57 AM

Do the Agencies need to get involved at all?

If the father refuses to pay anything but the mother is perfectly happy with this and doesn't want his money anyway then that should be that.

Or does she think she may change her mind some time in the future (possibly if her circumstances change). If this is the case irrespective of whats on file I imagine the childs welfare is the priority and the Agency would insist that the father contribute accordingly.

Of course the boyfriend may be over the moon that he is going to be a father when it all comes out...............you never know.

It's not unwanted then is it. As long as she doesn't try to tap him for any money I can't see a problem.

Jasey I was writing when the other replies were posted.
Shame if the relationship is all but over and she should be ashamed that she's gone to such lengths to try and keep her man. That said birth control is a two way thing.............just because a woman says she's on the pill so what. Men have a responsibility too!!!

Bet the boyfriend will be livid though. Ouch!

That's right - he was tricked into having sex. Men are so easily duped.

Even if she hadn't stopped taking the pill there is still always the risk (even if it is massively reduced) that she could have got pregnant.

Bottom line is that he is the father and if the State has to pay out they will want a contribution from his pocket.

Yeah right. :D

What a mental b1tch, I hope I never have the misfortune to meet anone like that. :)

RMA26 24 August 2006 11:03 AM

I'd contact the CSA...... ask their advice

Sounds like she's covering her back by telling the agencies. So when she's living in squaller only on benefits she can change her mind, and claim money off a poor bloke she tricked into giving her a baby.

She'll then be happy that the bloke cannot afford to live the life he wants.

Sounds like a nice girl :freak3:

Obviously the CSA will go gunning for him, as he's an easy target.

Has she considered saying that she doesn't know who the father is when she completes the birth certificate - just say she attended a gang bang with 40 anonymous guys and it could be any of them :D

sarasquares 24 August 2006 11:13 AM

at the moment she is a hairdresser, but later on she is probably going to end up squeezing benefits out of the system.
its discusting that you can have a baby through deception and you get rewarded for it

That's all good and well until the stupid b1tch realises that it's no fun being broke and decides to claim off him.......

Then again he shot his load up there without wearing full safety gear in the first place.... so more fool him....:thumb:
