I don't think that was an ordinary triathlon, I think that was the Hawaii Ironman, which is a whole world of hurt.

I just googled their name and got their website, it was an Ironman. In which case look at this for the distances involved:-

The swim is 2.4 miles and the cutoff is 2 hrs. and 20 min., the bike is 112 miles and the cutoff time is 10 hrs and 30 min from the beginning of the race and the run is a full marathon which is 26.2 miles and the cutoff time is 17 hours from the beginning of the race.

Then look at the the families' record:-
206 Triathlons, 6 Ironman distances
20 Duathlons
64 Marathons, 24 straight Boston Marathons
7 18.6 Milers
78 Half Marathons
1 20K
34 10 Milers
27 Falmouth 7.1 milers, 1 Falmouth in the Fall
8 15K
204 10K
143 5 Milers
4 8K
15 4 Milers
92 5K
6 20 Milers
2 11K
Total 911 events

Makes you think doesn't it.

I bet he jumpped on the back of the wheelchair and did a bit of free-wheeling downhill on the running stage :D
One hell of a bond there. Nice to see.
