Self employed.

Right bit of a problem. I want to buy a 03 STi for around £14000 but have only been self employed since may. I've heard loans are hard to get if you haven't been self employed for very long. Is this true? Anyone experienced this problem? I would try and get a loan to find out but too many rejections can lead to a bad credit rating. I think.

Yeah it is true that it is hard to get a loan when you first start out as self employed your best going to your bank and asking for a business loan, ive not done this but know of a few people who have ive never had to borrow money for my business i had inheritance money instead :)

Not sure if this helps :

Also give someone like HFC Bank a call, depending on your credit history you might get an unsecured loan.

Why don't you save up and buy the car when you can afford it?

Peanuts 17 August 2006 05:03 PM

Have been self employed for 5 yrs now-
Not once in that time have I been asked to show any accounts for either loans, bank accounts or credit card applications.
All applications have been successful

I can afford it otherwise I wouldn't buy one. I haven't got the money to buy it out right but can easily pay the monthly payments.
